Service User Says..
“It’s such a relief knowing my prescriptions are taken care of. I don’t have to worry aThe ladies who sat with Mum were all very friendly, helpful and caring. They enabled me to get a few hours of respite, much needed. Their understanding of dementia and Mum’s needs were always met and I felt confident leaving her in their care. Sadly Mum is now in permanent care but I will always be grateful to Habitat Home Care for their services. Thank you everyone.bout getting to the pharmacy anymore — the carers are always kind and reliable.”

FAQ
How do you tailor care for someone with dementia?
Our approach is entirely person-centred. We begin with a comprehensive assessment to understand the individual’s life history, preferences, routines, and the specific ways dementia impacts them. This allows us to create a personalised care plan that evolves with their needs, focusing on maintaining dignity and promoting their well-being.
Can your carers assist with challenging behaviours associated with dementia?
Yes, our carers receive specific training to understand and respond sensitively to challenging behaviours that may arise with dementia. They are skilled in de-escalation techniques, diversion, and creating a calming environment, always focusing on the individual’s comfort and safety.
How do you ensure consistency of care for someone with dementia?
We strive to assign a consistent team of carers to each individual, as familiarity is crucial for those living with dementia. This helps to build trust, reduce anxiety, and allows our carers to truly get to know the person they are supporting.
